Remember that IPOD commerical? It's kinda like that...
A silhouette is just an outline of a figure filled with a solid color. We will use the Pen Tool to create a MONOCHROMATIC or ANALOGOUS design using the 10 photos of people MOVING that you took.
Bring your camera on Tuesday, October, 9, 2012. We will use class time to take 10 photos of people MOVING! These need to be FULL FIGURE (no heads, arms, fingers, feet, or whatever cut off). Make sure your people are doing something interesting. The silhouette of a bump on a log looks pretty lame. Have your model JUMP, CARTWHEEL, BOOGIE! BE SURE TO BRING YOUR CAMERA. These ten photographs should be posted to your WEEBLY page by the end of class Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
By the end of class on October 10, 2012, you will create 3 MONOCHROMATIC or ANALOGOUS backgrounds (10x10 or a larger square) using BRUSHEEZY. These should be posted to a new page titled Symmetrical Silhouette as JPEGS.

Pen Tool Symmetry:
Before we get going with the bodies, we need to practice with the pen tool. Here's what you need to do:
1. Download the EGGPLANT picture on my tutorials page.
2. Open it in PhotoSHOP
3. Use the Pen Tool to go around the outside edge (contour) of the eggplant.
4. Go to Paths(by your layers)>click on the dancing ants icon(the 3rd circle at the bottom)>
5. Press DELETE to clear the inside of the eggplant.
6. Go to Edit>Fill>Fill in with a color of your choice.
7. Create a new File that is at least 10x10 inches.
8. Go to View>Show>Grid so that you can see the grid lines.
9. Go back to your eggplant.
10. Grab your move tool and move the eggplant to that 10x10 file.
11. Resize if needed. Place on the right side of the 10x10 file.
12. Create a duplicate of the eggplant (hold alt while on your move tool to drag out a copy)
13. Flip your new eggplant so that it is mirrored (edit>transform>flip horizontal)
14. Place the new eggplant on the left side of the 10x10 file so that it is PERFECTLY symmetrical with your other eggplant.
15. Repeat this process with the other images: HotDog, Turkey, Puggle, Dolly Parton, Skateboarder, Ballerina)
These images should all be on the same file. You will need to change the opacity on at least 2 of the mirrored objects. Save this as a JPEG when you are finished and post it to your WEEBLY site on the Symmetrical SIlhouette page by the end of class Tuesday October 16, 2012.
