If I were...
The point of this assignment is to help you think metaphorically. Loosen up! Get ridiculous! For this project, we will create a collage using appropriated images that represent different parts of our personalities.
By the end of class on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, you should have the sentences below completed. Here's an example:
If I were a cookie, I would be a Windmill cookie because they are something a grandmother would eat, but still tangy. I feel old sometimes, but I've got moxie.
See how I related the cookie to my personality and character? You should not just say, "I'm a sugar cookie because they're awesome!" Part of your grade for this first part of the assignment is how you relate the images to your personality/personal values. Instead, you might say, "I'm a sugar cookie because I'm always very sweet and gentle." That would a great answer!
So...complete the sentences below, but be sure to CORRECT YOUR SPELLING! This is also part of your grade.
1. If I were a cookie, I would be a....because....
2. If I were a shoe, I would be a...because...
3. If I were an animal, I would be a...because...
4. If I were an instrument, I would be a...because...
5. If I were a color, I would be...because...
6. If I were a celebrity, I would be...because...
7. If I were a season, I would be...because...
8. If I were car, I would be...because...
9. If I were a tool, I would be...because...
10. If I were a food, I would be...because...
Create a new page titled "If I were..." Complete these sentences by dragging down a title for each answer. This will make the final product easier to post.

So the next part is finding the images...
By the end of class Tuesday, October 2, you should find an image for each one of these objects. These should be posted underneath each answer. Make sure your images are of high resolution as you will have more options when you go to make your collage.
So...it's time to start your collage. You will use your knowledge of selection tools and layering to create an interesting composition using your found images. Be creative! Rotate your selections. Make them bigger! Have your images interact with each other. Here is the criteria:
1. Your collage should be 8x10 inches.
2. You need to use all 10 of your images in your collage
3. You should have multiples of at least one image.
4. Your objects should interact with each other
5. Your selections should be CLEAN! (this is really important)
6. Your collage should be TITLED.
Post your finished and TITLED collage on your WEEBLY site on the "If I were..." page by the end of class Friday, October 5, 2012. Make sure your top bar has related images!
