Let there be light!
The right lighting can make all the difference in a photograph. If you have a properly lit photo, you don't have to edit as much! The source of light and its direction can also affect the mood of an image.
For this assignment you will take six photographs of the same person from the same angle. Each photograph will have a different source of light.
Here's what you'll need:
Your handout
Your camera
A dimly lit room
A movable source of light
A volunteer
Take one photograph of the person with the lamp at each of the following locations:
1. Front
2. High 45 degree angle
3. Side
4. Top
5. Back
6. Bottom
Be sure to keep your model in the same position so you can really see the difference between the photographs. Also, make sure that the light source is NOT in the photograph. If you have to, CROP IT OUT in photoshop.
You will post these on WEEBLY on a new page titled LIGHTING.
You will need to label each photo as to what direction of lighting you used.
You will also need to assign 5 words to each image. What does it remind you of?
scary, interrogation, bright, unclear, cheesecake......what the photo feels like to you.
This should be posted to your WEEBLY page by ..........
